I was born and raised in East Africa.  I have lived in Kenya for most of my adult life with my husband Sam, working in community development in Nairobi and throughout the country, giving special attention to marginalized children.  I am trained as an educator but have leaned in over the past several years to my calling towards listening at a heart level to others and companioning them as they journey through the world.  This combined with a sensitivity and calling toward spiritual things has led to my current work as a Spiritual Director.  I believe being a soul friend is a valuable offering that makes for a much needed space of remembering. It is a gentle grounding in what is actually happening in our days and a noticing of the places we see God present in our lives. My training through the Haden Institute combined an understanding of Jungian Psychology with engaging the inner and outer life so that relationships with others and with God are more full and rich. I am a member of Spiritual Directors International and am accountable to their ethical standards and practices.

I also serve on the board of Africa Exchange, a non-profit that facilitates the sharing of information, ideas and resources across cultures, most specifically in Kenya. My heart is global in nature and recognizes the commonality of people everywhere. I believe we are alike more than we are different. I am delighted when my experience overseas intersects with my commitment to companioning others. I have several directees who currently live overseas.

I have 3 sons, 1 daughter-in-law, 1 granddaughter, and 2 granddogs. I love all things creative and take great pleasure in hosting people in our home on the lake, cooking delicious meals and sharing around our table.

“We are exploring together. We are cultivating a garden together, backs to the sun. The question is a hoe in our hands and we are digging beneath the hard and crusty surface to the rich humus of our lives.”
